Process: Swap
Students traded drawings and machined one another's designs during this three week assignment. Round metal stock is used to discover the range and limitations of the material. Each student designed a non-utilitarian object.

Process: Rings
Aluminum and steel are pressed together. This is turned and a hole is bored through the center. The correct internal diameter is then machined and the exterior surface is honed to a thin profile. A parting tool is used to cut a recessed groove and part the two rings.
